The Punic Wars and Hannibal's Elephants
We studied the above today. After reading them a story about Hannibal and the elephants and reading a book about soldiers and war in ancient Rome, I asked my older two children to draw a picture of Hannibal's elephants crossing the Alps. What I got really shocked me!
Nathaniel
Micaela
Someone might need to catch up to her brother :)

Wow... I bet Nathaniel took his time and worked on this twice as long as Micaela. He's the perfectionist. She wants to get it done to be able to do more fun things! I'm impressed with Nathaniel. Although, Micaela did have guys running around screaming because they were afraid. Give her some points for that!
I can't get over the detail in Nathaniel's. He has certainly grown up since I last saw him! Who would have guessed back then he had an artist's sensitivities? Clearly Micaela has more important things on her mind than drawing! That comes as no surprise :)
Wow, Becky, Nathaniel has quite some talent developing here. Now - both photos are perfectly cute and wonderful but I am really impressed with Nathaniel Elephant.....I'm telling you it's nicer than my older ones would do. LOL
